NANCY FABIOLA HERRERA is one of the most outstanding performers of the international opera scene today. Her interpretation of the character Carmen has led to performances with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Covent Garden London, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Arena di Verona, Termas de Caracalla, Ópera de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Festival de Masada, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Los Angeles Opera, Tokyo Opera and Semperoper Dresden, among many others, and in which role she has debuted this year at the Sydney Opera House, the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre, the Melbourne Opera and the Rome Opera. Other roles she has sung are Anna Bolenna (Gran Teatre del Liceu), Roberto Devereux (Las Palmas), Samson et Dalila (Manaos and soon in Oviedo), The Tales of Hoffmann (Paris and Seattle), An Italiana in Algeri (Las Palmas and Jerez), Werther (Las Palmas and Oviedo), Norma (Montpellier), Rigoletto (Metropolitan and La Bastille Paris), as well as major roles in The Rake’s Progress, I Capuletti ed i Montecchi, Die Fledermaus, La Dama de Picas, etc.
She has performed with the symphonic orchestras of Boston, Toronto, Los Angeles, Galicia, Montreal, Washington, Euskadi, the SODRE, Brazil, NordNetherlands, RTVE, Oviedo Philharmonic, Gran Canaria Philharmonic, Orquesta Nacional de España and Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater, among others.
She has collaborated with conductors such as Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Michel Plasson, Placido Domingo, Marco Armilliato, Fabio Luisi, Charles Dutoit, Daniel Oren, Alain Guingal Josep Pons and Friedrich Haider.
Her discography includes works for Deutsche Grammophon, Op Art, Music Column, ASV Living Era, Naxos and Arte Nova. During the past seasons she has recorded two albums of zarzuelas for Deutsche Grammophon: Luisa Fernanda (2007, with Placido Domingo) and La Bruja (2011).
