Miah Persson & Magnus Svensson

“Hammershøi is not one of those about whom one can speak quickly. His work is extensive and slow, and the moment it is understood, it will be an opportunity to speak of what is important and essential in art,” and it is no small matter that these are the words of Rainer Maria Rilke himself, one of the authors who has reflected most on the artistic act throughout history. The interiors of the Danish painter Wilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916) are unmistakable, with their serene colors, of dim light that caress the spaces with solitary figures that do not convey loneliness, but rather serenity and peace. Interiors that seem to have emerged from a dream. A dream made of light. On the occasion of the exhibition that the Thyssen Museum dedicates to the Danish painter, Swedish soprano Miah Persson offers a recital of Nordic songs with Magnus Svensson. The soprano debuted at LIFE Victoria with a beautiful recital dedicated to Mozart and the Countess Almaviva, on the centenary of Victoria de los Ángeles, while Svensson debuted, together with Iréne Theorin, in a memorable recital at the University of Barcelona in 2017.
