Keval Shah, piano
Young Talent for Young People
British pianist Keval Shah, one of the most prominent emerging voices of a new generation of accompanists and vocal repertoire specialists, will give a series of masterclasses at LIFE Victoria this season. His career has already seen him collaborate with internationally renowned singers such as Karita Mattila and perform at some of the leading centres dedicated to song. Shah represents a new way of understanding the role of the pianist: as performer, collaborator and creator of a shared musical discourse. Aimed at young duos interested in vocal repertoire, these sessions offer an exceptional opportunity to explore the essential aspects of accompanying singers, from the study of the text and the relationship with the voice to the development of an individual interpretative language. The generational proximity between teacher and students creates a particularly stimulating space for exchange, where professional experience meets a fresh perspective on the challenges facing music today.
