Inner Exile: Sol i tu
For Rainer Maria Rilke, Art does not emerge from immediate experience, but from its slow inner transformation. In Letters to a Young Poet, he writes that experiences must be forgotten so that they can become words, music or images. The inner world is therefore not a refuge from the outside world, but the place where it quietly matures. The artist’s solitude is not an escape, but a state of openness and almost a necessity: a way of embracing reality until it reveals a new meaning. A work of art does not offer answers or soothe our anxieties; it intensifies them, inviting us to inhabit the questions. Perhaps this is where its power lies: in transforming what is most intimate into a shared experience, making the inner world a common space in which we can all recognise ourselves. Pianist Francisco Poyato engages in dialogue with dancer Èlia Genís in a production directed by Carles Pedragosa.
