Barcelona, 21 october de 2026
The project LiedLab: La casa de las tres muchachas, submitted by soprano Cecilia Rodríguez, has been selected as the winner of the Barcelona Crea – Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation Grant, an initiative supported by the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB).

The jury, comprising stage directors Rafael R. Villalobos and Vincent Huguet; Mercedes Conde Pons, Deputy Artistic Director of the Palau de la Música Catalana; and Marc Busquets, Artistic Director of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation, particularly praised the artistic and heritage value of the proposal.

Among its most notable aspects, the jury highlighted the project’s commitment to rediscovering and showcasing the German Lied repertoire while also incorporating Spanish repertoire. It also welcomed the involvement of a team of young professionals associated with the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation, as well as the intention to present the project at the new Victoria de los Ángeles Music Centre – Casa Hurtado, which is due to open next year.

The proposal thus connects contemporary musical creation with the preservation and promotion of Victoria de los Ángeles’s artistic legacy, helping to keep her heritage alive and create new opportunities for emerging generations of music professionals.

The grant, worth €6,000, will enable Cecilia Rodríguez to develop the project over the course of the academic year, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to research, creation and the promotion of young talent.

The Barcelona Crea – Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation Grant is supported by the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB), part of Barcelona City Council.
