The agreement will strengthen cultural ties between Barcelona and New York and encourage the participation of American Friends in the activities of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation.
The Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation and New York’s Farragut Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at fostering cultural exchange between the two institutions and strengthening ties between their respective cultural communities. The agreement will also help promote the involvement and participation of American Friends in the activities of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation.
The agreement was signed by Helena Mora, President of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation, and Mary Ann Newman, Director of the Farragut Foundation, who formalised the partnership to establish new avenues for cooperation and promote joint initiatives between the two organisations.
This collaboration marks a further step forward in the international profile of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation and its commitment to promoting the soprano’s artistic and musical legacy, while creating new opportunities for institutions and audiences on both sides of the Atlantic to connect.
New York, a Key City in Victoria de los Ángeles’s Career
The signing of the agreement coincided with a particularly significant anniversary: the 76th anniversary of Victoria de los Ángeles’s debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the world’s most iconic concert venues.
That performance marked an important milestone in the international career of an artist who achieved great acclaim on the world’s leading opera stages and concert platforms. New York and the United States played a prominent role in her career and artistic profile, becoming an important part of her connection with international audiences.
The coincidence of this date with the signing of the agreement lends particular symbolic significance to the partnership between the two foundations. More than seven decades after that debut, collaborating with a New York institution helps renew ties with a city that played a fundamental role in the soprano’s history, while opening up new opportunities to continue sharing her legacy.
Through this initiative, the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation reaffirms its commitment to preserving musical heritage, supporting new generations and building international cultural relationships that keep Victoria de los Ángeles’s artistic legacy alive.
