Albert Guinovart, piano

Two of Victoria's pianists

Alicia and Victoria, two great international artists born in Barcelona in 1923. Together they made their first recording, which was part of the prize Victoria de los Ángeles won at Radio Barcelona in 1940, and the soprano's last, Toldrà's Cançó de comiat in 2000. Sixty years of friendship and professional relationship, which left legendary testimonies such as the recital at Hunter College in New York in 1972, which was recorded on disc. The Foundation wants Alicia de Larrocha to be very present in the Festival during the centenary of this great pianist, and for this reason the piano cycle is dedicated to her. The cycle will begin with this recital offered by Albert Guinovart, who recently remembered her with a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York, where Alicia appeared so many times. Two of Victoria's pianists - Guinovart accompanied her in the last ten years of her career - united by this piano recital.
