Bernardo Rambeaud & Montserrat Seró

Under the title Songs of the Angels, this program premiered at the Oxford International Song Festival in the autumn of 2024 to mark the centenary of Victoria de los Ángeles. In it, soprano Montserrat Seró and Bernardo Rambeaud on guitar, two of this year's resident artists, combine with freshness and naturalness the traditional Catalan songs so beloved by the two Catalan sopranos, Montserrat Seró and Victoria de los Ángeles, with Lieder by Franz Schubert, whom the Barcelona soprano also loved so much. Thus, 'El mariner' is intertwined with 'Das Fischermädchen', with 'Meeres Stille' or 'La mort i la donzella' with 'Der Tod und das Mädchen', establishing direct bridges between traditional Catalan song and Schubert with the same naturalness and love with which Victoria de los Ángeles performed both repertoires.
