Sabine Devieilhe & Mathieu Pordoy

Thursday, May 20, 2027 – 19h

Sala 2 Oriol Martorell - L'Auditori

A Felicity Lott

The first recital in Barcelona by soprano Sabine Devieilhe promises an evening of vocal goldsmithing and distilled emotion. An undisputed reference in the French repertoire, Devieilhe displays a voice of exquisite luminosity and a poetic sensitivity that finds in the lied a territory of shared intimacy. The lied, far from being a genre reserved for specialists, becomes here an accessible experience: short, intense stories, recreated with a wide range of nuances. Alongside her, pianist Mathieu Pordoy will converse, breathe, and build evocative atmospheres of delicate colors in a program focused primarily on reclaiming and normalizing the valuable repertoire of songs and lieder by women composers from the Romantic period and the early years of the 20th century, such as Fanny Mendelssohn, Mel Bonis, Marguerite Canal, and Alma Mahler. Alongside them, the intensity of Franz Liszt and the impressionistic sensuality of Claude Debussy complete a journey that combines immediate beauty, expressive risk, and discovery.

Songs by Fanny Mendelssohn (1805–1847), Alma Mahler (1879–1964), Franz Liszt (1811–1886), Mel Bonis (1858–1937), Marguerite Canal (1890–1978), and Claude Debussy (1862–1918).
