The programme includes an illustrated talk, the concert Cants d’Àngels and a children’s show celebrating the legacy of soprano Victoria de los Ángeles.
Sant Cugat del Vallès will celebrate the second edition of the Victoria de los Ángeles Day on 1 November, marking the soprano’s birthday. The initiative aims to keep alive the legacy of one of the great voices of 20th-century opera through a programme combining music appreciation, concerts and activities for families.
The programme features three events taking place throughout November at different cultural venues across the city: the Casa de Cultura, the Monastery of Sant Cugat and the Gabriel Ferrater Central Library.
The programme will begin on 3 November with an illustrated talk led by Pedro Pardo, conductor of the Victoria de los Ángeles Symphony Orchestra (OSVA), and Helena Mora, president of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation. The session will take place at 7.30 pm at the Casa de Cultura and will offer an opportunity to explore the soprano’s life and artistic legacy in greater depth.
On 7 November, it will be the turn of the concert «Cants d’Àngels», featuring soprano Montserrat Seró, organist Joan Seguí and the Cor Victoria de los Ángeles, conducted by Pedro Pardo. The concert will take place at 8.30 pm at the Monastery of Sant Cugat, in a heritage setting that will provide the backdrop for this musical celebration of song.
The programme will conclude on 28 November with «Victoria, Fígaro i la seva guitarra», a children’s show presented by Cristina Segura and Bernardo Rambeaud. Aimed at families, the performance will take place at 11 am at the Gabriel Ferrater Central Library, bringing music closer to younger audiences in a fun and accessible way.
With this second edition, Victoria de los Ángeles Day aims to establish itself as a leading cultural event in Sant Cugat del Vallès and to celebrate the legacy of an artist who achieved international recognition for her operatic career and her contribution to music.
Through these three activities, the initiative invites the public to remember the soprano, discover her musical world and enjoy cultural offerings aimed at audiences of different ages and generations.
